Neighborhood Watch is an exclusive feature that prevents UNAUTHORIZED inidividuals from
creating a VirtualOffice account that is associated with a particular
school's courses. E-Office Hours is concerned that no individual be
permitted to lower the high standard of content that exists on our course
websites, so we have enabled our community of teachers to assist in
validating new users from their school.
Much like your local neighborhood watch, we utilize our community of teachers
to watch over each other and make sure that non-teachers are not allowed
to enter and use the system.

How It Works:
- A new user signs up for a VirtualOffice account for a particular school.
- All existing (verified) users in that school are notified of this new subscription.
- Any existing (verified) teacher in the school can confirm that they know
the new teacher by clicking on the "Confirm" link from their account. If they don't know the new teacher, they may click on "Don't Know"
instead.
- If the new teacher is verified, they are then able to verify future new sign-ups at their school.
If a teacher cannot be verified or if they are the first teacher in their school to create
a new account, E-Office Hours will independently verify their account through a series of steps
that includes monitoring their account for inappropriate content and material.
Protected But Not Restricted:
When a new user signs up, they have full control of their account. They can create and edit course
websites, add their students, and much more. However, until verified, they will not be listed with their
school's other courses on our website and students will not be able to manually subscribe to their courses.
The system protects without restricting.
